Copyright is the exclusive legal right to reproduce, publish, sell, or distribute the matter and form of something. It is usually assigned to the creator or owner of a work. Copyright laws give the owner of copyright exclusive control over how their work is used and distributed. This includes, but is not limited to, making copies, performing in public, broadcasting on television or radio, and adapting a work into another form. Copyright protection typically lasts for the life of the author plus 70 years after their death.
