Chapter 1 Will
“We should start back,” Gared urged as the woods began to grow dark around them. “The wildlings are dead.”
这一句甚至有种给全文暗喻的感觉---"start back" 回归到一切故事之前，在文明重返自然的时候（？）
曾经脑补过一个结局，布兰在树中感知到溪流结冻，春天来临，无数的梦境都变成了宇宙，世界消散成星尘又醒来，如此往复，坠入地面的红陨石在下一秒就化成萌芽

来点环境描写
“Twilight deepened. The cloudless sky turned a deep purple, the color of an old bruise, then faded to black. The stars began to come out. A half-moon rose. Will was grateful for the light. ”
“Ser Waymar Royce did not deign to reply.
Somewhere off in the wood a wolf howled.”
卷一这种穿插的环境，大量的短句让节奏保持在了一种不祥预感的寒冷和空旷里。暮色，月光，遥远的鸣叫，鬼影森林的沉浸感就这么出现了

"The great sentinel was right there at the top of the ridge, where Will had known it would be, its lowest branches a bare foot off the ground. Will slid in underneath, flat on his belly in the snow and the mud, and looked down on the empty clearing below. His heart stopped in his chest. For a moment he dared not breathe. Moonlight shone down on the clearing, the ashes of the firepit, the snow-covered lean-to, the great rock, the little half-frozen stream. Everything was just as it had been a few hours ago. Its armor seemed to change color as it moved; here it was white as new-fallen snow, there black as shadow, everywhere dappled with the deep greygreen of the trees.
