蒙代尔谢世，我寄了如下的慰问信给他的太太，是由张滔代笔的。很不幸，在我信后列出的慰问朋友中，竟然忘记放进张滔的名字。谨在这里向滔老弟致意。
我最后一次见到蒙代尔，是2013年10月18-19日在深圳举办的追悼科斯的研讨会，由他做主讲。但他那次讲话的内容，主要是我的《佃农理论》。会议过后，蒙代尔离开深圳不过几天，就传来他中风的消息。蒙兄和我从此就咫尺天涯了。
像科斯一样，蒙代尔是一个衷心关注与维护中国的经济学者。他的死，是中国的一个损失。
