原文：Mulan Live-Action Remake Shows New Footage at D23
Disney revealed new footage of their live-action Mulan movie at D23 Expo today. This early footage shows off some of the film's early scenes and offers a better idea of how the new remake compares to the 1998 animated movie. The first of two scenes shows the matchmaker sequence, as a heavily made-u Mulan attempts to impress the matchmaker and earn an honorable choice of husband. Mulan's mother orders her not to eat, lest she ruin her makeup. Mulan retorts, "The fiercest winter storm could not destroy this makeup."Meanwhile, the matchmaker says, "Quiet, composed, graceful - these are qualities we see in a good wife. These are the qualities we see in Mulan. When a wife serves her husband, she must be silent, she must be invisible."
Chaos breaks out as Mulan attempts to trap a pesky spider beneath a teapot. When the spider jumps free, Mulan manages to catch it along with every other item that flies off the table, but in the process her hair clip falls and knocks over a teacup.
The matchmaker leaves in disgust, accusing Mulan's parents of failing to raise a good daughter. The second scene closely follows the animated movie, as soldiers arrive to recruit a male member of the Mulan household. Her father stands up despite his injured leg and says, "I have been blessed with two daughters. I will fight."
We then see Mulan watching as her father trains with his sword. That quickly segues into a montage of Mulan training, kicking a spear out of the air, falling through ice, assassins running down halls and finally, letting her hair down and fighting as a woman.
"I will bring honor to us all," Mulan vows.
In short, while the live-action movie may be removing the songs and other elements from the animated version, it still looks to be pretty similar in terms of plot and major story beats.
