当东方遇见西方，当灵魂脱离肉体，成为了结构的一部分，灵魂与肉体互相依存，无法单一存在；”SOUL CHAIR” 形成了一种特殊的存在讨论著东方与西方各种可能性，而创造出新的形式与意义。灵魂之椅藉由”抽离”的手法重新定义结构与肉体的关系，结构的抽离造成了肉体悬浮的状态，形成”轻”的视觉感受。
The design of “SOUL CHAIR” tried to discuss the relationship between East and West. In Asia, Eastern culture is the base of the life but effected by Western, such as Asia people still wear western suit as a polite instead of the traditional clothes. And we tried to project this point of view in the chair design. In “SOUL CHAIR”, Eastern culture is the soul of the chair and Western culture forms the body of it. From extracting the soul, we saw a new relationship between East and West; one of them becomes the support of another. And the shape becomes lighter and looks like floating in the air.
