Fellow Imagineers – the passion of fans and the power of music Fellow Imagineers is a documentary from the fans to Nightwish. The whole documentary is filmed by fans all over the world. Could you be one of the film-makers? Fellow Imagineers unites Nightwish fans from all around the world. What is it like to be a Nightwish fan in Italy, Brazil, Vietnam, Poland, Turkey, or wherever you live? Nightwish is now nearly 20 years old and more popular than ever. The music of the band takes us to ever deeper adventures, and the adventure of each fan is an individual one. Fellow Imagineers will not come to life without the fans: the whole documentary is filmed with the fans’ own equipment, mobile phones and cameras by you, Nightwish fans. The result is a sincere, crazy and intimate documentary and a story about passion, the power of music and the journey of Nightwish to Wembley SSE Arena. Fellow Imagineers will be published as a full-length documentary film and a web series.
Are you the kind of film-maker we’re looking for? For Fellow Imagineers, we’re looking for the most dedicated fans. It doesn’t matter where in the world you live but we want you to be an active fan and an open person. We want you to share your life and dreams with us. We want to hear what the music of Nightwish can do. We are interested in fan art, tattoos, trips to concerts, fan clubs, the lonely heavy metal fan in Turkmenistan, mothers and daughters, big emotions, and the stories of true fans. For the full-length documentary, we are also looking for fans that are going to the Nightwish concert on Wembley SSE Arena in London 19 December 2015.
The production team of the documentary In addition to the fans, the documentary will be made by respected professionals. The documentary is directed and the script is created by Kaisa Alenius and Harto Hänninen. Harto is an internationally awarded director who has also written factual books about the horror culture, comic strips and movies during his career. Kaisa has been a part of several acclaimed productions, and what’s most important, she sang in the school choir with Tarja Turunen! The producer of the project, Sami Hahtala, is an experienced producer of music programmes and shared a band rehearsal room with the Nightwish manager Ewo in the 90s. Fellow Imagineers is a production by the biggest TV broadcaster in Finland, Yle or The Finnish Broadcasting Company. The direction, editing, and post-production are done by the top professionals in the field. The premiere of the documentary and the web series will be in the autumn of 2016.
