Annelies "Anne" Marie Frank (1929 – 1945) was one of the most discussed Jewish victims of the Holocaust. She gained international fame posthumously after her diary, The Diary of a Young Girl, was published. It documents her experiences hiding during the German occupation of the Netherlands in World War II. Her diary has been the basis for several plays and films.
