Lee JunKi who is a 29 years old actor in Korea has shot many marvelous TV plays and wonderful films. Some of his famous works are The King and the Clown, Fly Daddy Fly,Virgin Snow, My girl, Time Between Dog And Wolf, Iljimae, Hero and so forth. Now, he is fulfilling the duty of serving in the army for two years. WILLPOWER There is no one whose road to success is smooth. And there is no exception for Lee, of course. When Lee made up his mind about being an actor, he started to step on the road of following his dream. With only 3000 Yuan, Lee came to a strange city----Seoul, the capital of Korea. Obviously, Seoul is a place of high level of consumption. He ran out of his money just a few days later. Then, he had no choice but to live in his friend’s house. On the other hand, he needed a work to earn some money for living as well as the cost of learning performance. Definitely, he lived a hard life. Though he had to work around the clock and live in poor condition, he never gave up his dream. After failing the interview for hundreds of times, Lee met a director of the film The Man of the King. From then on, the doors began to open, and opportunities came to flooding in. EFFORT As a result of his consummate performance, Lee was chosen by many other directors. Thus, he had opportunities to play a variety of different roles, including warmhearted, indifferent, mischievous, and sensible and so on. Sometimes he had to perform contradictory characteristics. When facing these mental difficulties, Lee managed to understand the role’s thought and emotion. However, another big challenge is physical burden. In order to finish the task, the whole group had to work overnight for continual days. It was very harmful to people’s health. What’s more, when shooting a film of ancient time, there were inevitable scenes of fighting, which were very dangerous. As usual, this kind of scene was performed by stuntman instead of actors. Nevertheless, this rule was not an option for Lee. He would act himself no matter how dangerous the scene might be. In his point of view, actor is someone who presents the most real performance to the audience. With this idea in his mind, he made every effort to show audience both physical and mental characteristics of the role. As a result, he succeeded in presenting the role from all sides at the risk of his health. Lee was always getting seriously injured during his work. There is no doubt that his work is tiring and dangerous. But Lee said he enjoyed the process, the process of effort. ATTITUDE Under the great pressure, many people gradually become negative, get tired of their life, and even regret to choose such a burdensome career though they once pursued urgently. It’s surely that Lee has come across this problem and has to think about it. On the contrary, he faces it with a positive attitude. He knows this is the obstacle which he must overcome if he wants to follow his career. He was interviewed by someone at one time, and he said: It seems that recently quite a few young people easily feel depressed and frustrated when come across some trouble. I can’t understand it at all.” Why he couldn’t understand it? It is because he holds the different view with those young people. They think it’s reasonable to live a life comfortably with the help of parents or relatives. Thus, they are not willing to work hard and feel down when faced with some challenges. However, in the eyes of Lee, life is controlled by us not by others. It’s completely up to us to live a comfortable or hard life.
